JoomGallery 4.4.0 Feature/Security Release

This update patches two critical security vulnerabilities that have existed since the beginning of JoomGallery 4.x. So we strongly recommend to update!
In addition, two long-awaited new features have been added:



  • Gallery view with search bar and filters
  • Task Manager for administrative tasks in the backend

Support for Joomla! 4 is ending soon

Details

Since the launch of Joomla! versions 6.0.0 and 5.4.0 on October 14, 2025, Joomla! major version 4 (4.4.14) no longer receives security updates from the Joomla project.
The JoomGallery developers have decided to discontinue support for this retired J4 version within our JoomGallery 4 extension. This helps alleviate the workload on the small team of volunteer developers maintaining our gallery component.
With the release of JoomGallery version 4.5.0, expected in autumn 2026, Joomla 4 will no longer be supported.

The volunteer developers of JoomGallery are planning for the future. Currently, two friends of our image component are working on a solution to allow users to sell images from their gallery again. While they develop and program in the background, they're asking:

"Which payment methods do you prefer online?"

This is about which methods you use to pay for all kinds of online purchases, regardless of where you live. Payment extensions will then be implemented for the most popular and requested methods.
We would be delighted if you would simply comment on the dedicated thread in the JG Forum with your wishes and preferences for payment methods.
