JoomGallery is a voluntarily developed Joomla! component designed for large and ambitious photo galleries. It is particularly suitable for clubs and associations, photo communities, photographers, image libraries, or projects with similar requirements.

Highlights of the Core Component
Advanced ACL
The Joomla! permission system has been enhanced and adjusted. It now allows more granular permission assignments and performs better with large datasets.
Advanced Configurator
The component can be customised with a wide range of parameters. Parameters can be overridden hierarchically (Menu > Category > Image > User Group > Global) and can be shared and backed up via import and export.
Remote File Systems
With Joomla! plugins of the type Filesystem, external file systems and cloud services can be seamlessly integrated. Images can be stored externally to save hosting costs.
Custom Thumbnails
An unlimited number of thumbnails (image types) can be defined and configured. Static and dynamic processing generates optimised and customised image previews for various displays (grids, sliders, purchase preview, download, etc.).
Various Image Processors
By default, two server-side image processors are available for generating thumbnails. GD is the standard PHP image processor. Alternatively, on supported servers, ImageMagick can be used for better results with lower resource consumption.
Categories, Tags & Collections
For administration and permissions, each image is assigned to a category. Tags (keywords) allow images to be assigned multiple terms and attributes. Collections are image sets created by individual users, which they can share and publish. These three content types enable a variety of functions and structures for modern image galleries.
Languages & Fields
The core Joomla! functionalities for multilingual support and custom fields are available for images and categories.
Modern Layouts
For the display of images in the frontend, two slim and attractive grid layouts are available: Justified and Masonry. With the lightGallery, the images can be enlarged in practical light boxes.
Frontend Editing
Registered and authorised users have access to frontend administration, where they can manage and edit their images, categories, and collections, as well as upload new images.
Batch Processing
To efficiently manage, maintain, and back up large datasets, a flexible batch process manager is available. Unlike Joomla!'s standard batch processes, these can be paused, scheduled, and executed automatically.
