Recently JoomGallery 3.6.0 has been released.
You may have heared that JoomGallery 4 is currently under development. In order to focus resources on this development we will not add any new features to JoomGallery 3.

Below you will find an overview of the main changes in JoomGallery 3.6.0.
Apart of these changes, other minor improvements and bug fixes were added to the component. As usual, you can find a complete list of these changes in the changelog.xml
Change needed access rule for maintenance view - PR81
Change the required access permission from core.admin to core.manage in order to open and use the Maintenance Manager.
Show category description even if no image exist - PR84
Possibility to display the category description even if the category does not contain any images.
Improved content administration (image & category) - PR85
Many new features for the image and category manager which make working in large galleries easier.
Add 'delete own' permission - PR86
Extending the access permissions such that users are allowed to delete only their own categories and images.
Templating system for JoomInterface - PR87
Add a templating system to the JoomInterface class. The HTML output of the display methods (displayThumb, displayDetail, displayDesc, displayThumbs) can now be customized by template overrides. As a result it is now possible to change the appearance of images and categories inserted into articles by the JoomPlu plugin.
Add a security question in image manager - PR89
When deleting images, a security confirmation is now required.
Improve description for paths in config - PR92
Improves the description in the configuration manager of path related settings.
External search engines integration - PR93
Integration of additional search engines into the JoomGallery. In combination with the new JoomFinderPlugin, the index-based search of Joomla (Smart Search, com_finder) can now be used for the search of images in the JoomGallery.
Adapt image processing settings to JoomIMGtools - PR65
To improve the organization and explanation of the different settings, a new tab called "Image Processing" has been added to the configuration manager. All settings concerning image processing are now grouped together in this tab.
Add Bounties to dashboard - PR73
Inserts a module into the JoomGallery control panel displaying an overview of open "bounties" on Github (open Github issues with the label "bounty").
Text counter for better SEO - PR112
Adds a character counter to the Title, Meta Description and Meta Keywords fields to get an idea of the text lengths in these fields.
Add support for basic WebP images - PR102
Added support for WebP image format to JoomGallery. It is now possible to upload WebP images (without animation).
Upgrade info - PR115
An additional message with a link to our website is now displayed in the control centre. There you will later find more information about the upgrade to Joomgallery 4.
Please note: If you have created template overrides for any of the JoomGallery views, they should be updated based on the new template files.
