Filesystem
Since JoomGallery uses the new plugin type filesystem to interact with image files on the file system, DPMedia fits perfectly into this setup. It provides various integrations with file systems such as Amazon S3, Dropbox, Google Drive, WebDAV/Nextcloud, and many more. This makes it possible to host JoomGallery images on remote cloud services rather than using the expensive storage space of your hosting provider. You can find out exactly how to use this in the article External Filesystems in our documentation.Media Actions
In addition, this integration of JoomGallery with the filesystem plugin type allows images to be opened and edited directly in the Media Manager. Since version v4.2.0, a button has been available that opens an image of an image type directly in edit mode within the Media Manager (see PR #236 on GitHub). This is where the DPMedia plugins come into play again. With the plugin type media-action, Joomla! provides the ability to add additional editing features to the Media Manager. JoomGallery images can therefore be opened in the Media Manager and edited using the DPMedia plugins. This makes it possible, for example, to add text or apply filters to individual JoomGallery images. As a result, JoomGallery effectively becomes a simple image editing tool as well.Overall, it can be said that JoomGallery, the Media Manager, and the DPMedia plugins complement each other perfectly.
Take a look at DPMedia from DigitalPeak. One of its plugins may provide exactly the feature you have been wishing for in JoomGallery. We also recommend considering the paid versions, as they offer excellent additional features and help support the developer in continuing to develop and maintain these extensions.
