Release Candidate of JoomGallery 4 Published.
With the release of the Release Candidate, JoomGallery 4 will no longer receive new features or bug fixes. This version is intended for testing before the final release.
This version is compatible with Joomla! 4.4 and Joomla! 5.x.
The voluntary development team at JoomGallery Friends continues to work diligently on future JoomGallery 4 versions for Joomla! 4 and Joomla! 5. We currently foresee no complications for the upcoming Joomla! 6 in two years.
Unfortunately, we are only a very small team driving development forward. We are always looking for help to progress faster.

An Improved Migration Script
The existing, extensive migration script for migrating from JoomGallery 3.x to JoomGallery 4.x has been improved, and some bugs have been fixed.

- Improved Category View
Several issues in the category view have been fixed, and the overall display has been improved. Additionally, pagination for subcategories has been added.
- The Compatibility Mode
The compatibility mode has been improved. Migrated categories with file paths following the old schema can now be used without issues.

Development of JoomGallery does not end with the official release. The goal is to replicate the functionality of JG3 in future releases. Additionally, new and exciting features are planned...
Attention!
Even though this version of JoomGallery is already well advanced: Do not use this version on a live website. It is only intended for testing and experimentation.
An update from a previous test version to the current RC, or even from a JG3 version, is not possible.
Please uninstall the previous version, install RC1 anew, and then test!

What exactly is this RC version?
The RC version provides a preview of the stable release. There should be no changes between this version and the stable release.
What is this RC version NOT?
This is not yet the final release. Do not install this RC version on a live Joomla! installation.
If you have already installed a test version, you must uninstall it first. There is no upgrade path from an old JoomGallery 4 test version.
How can I report bugs?
Ideally, please report found bugs directly on GitHub in our development repository as an issue. This ensures that the bug is reviewed by a developer and is not forgotten. If you are unfamiliar with GitHub or do not feel confident posting there, you can also report the bug in our forum. We will then properly log your bug on GitHub.
